What's the best dog leash for a Siberian Husky?
I'm getting a Siberian Husky on Saturday and I want to get the best leash to go for walks and runs. Any suggestions?
answer:
If you can afford it, a good leather leash is a great option. If not, a 6' nylon leash.

You never buy a chain leash for any dog unless you want your hands cut to pieces the first time the dog pulls a little.
I'd recommend a Martingale for the dog as a puppy. If he's a strong puller, you haven't trained him to walk on a loose leash or you have trouble handling him, a canny collar or Halti, I'd recommend.

The actual leash shouldn't be an extending lead, or extremely long one. Large dogs shouldn't have retractable leads. You'd be pulled over in seconds. They have enough speed and strength to damage you, themselves and anything they're trying to get. The longest I'd go length wise is 8 foot. The material would better be nylon, but you could use a chain, leather or a simple light-weight rope with a clip. Anything you feel comfortable with.
i would get a pretty strong leash because they are really strong dogs. probably a leather leash
Most likely a chain leash since they strong dogs.
http://www.halti.co.uk/ The best and good for huskys as they do tend to go for other dogs
no choke collars!!!!! try a strong fabric !
