She's 5 months old. I never noticed her doing it before last week and I've had her for 2 months now. She has food in her bowl and still wants to eat the poop. I went to the pet store and got some drops to put in her water to make the poop taste bad...she still eats it. Any advice would be great!!! Thanks :)

It's natural and not bad for them to do that. We have a little descending hill in the corner of our backyard, and he goes down there and eats his own poop all the time. They aren't supposed to eat it all of the time though. When you need to let him out, put him on a leash and go with him. It might be gross but when hes about to do it, then pull him away from it. When hes all done, bring him back inside and he will start getting out of the habit. Also pick it up more often, as that will help too :)

Well, how did you pody train her? Because when scolding the dog, some people will shove their dog's nose in the crap (probably not you, just example) or point to it or basically do something that emphasizes the poop being bad, not the location of it. Maybe she misinterpreted you once and is under the impression that actually pooping is bad. When the dog thinks the act of relieving him/herself is the problem, sometimes they will eat the crap to hide the evidence. It is actually among the more common causes for eating their own waste.
