Why does my dog only fart at night?
whats the best gas reducer out there? i feed him high quality dog food. i stay home with him all day and he just seems to fart all night. the fumes are killing me!!! please help. hes a lab btw
My Golden Retriever/ German shepherd mix does that daily and i feed her Blue Buffalo I dont understand either im sorry if im not helping but I just thought you would be happier knowing your not the only one.
'High quality' might not be the best quality, for your dog. And a gassy dog is in a potentially dangerous situation ..... risk of bloat! If I were you, I'd explore other possibilities re the food you are using (do any switch gradually) because if he's that gassy, his current feed isn't right, for him. Not every feed is right for every dog, and you may find he's far better on something else - might even save your some money too!
I have a training client who claims to have fixed the most toxic dog I've ever known with Beano. You could try that, or you could try a digestive enzyme (I use NOW Foods Super Enzymes, one capsule sprinkled on each meal for my 70# dog). You could also try a probiotic capsule 1/2 hour before meals (I like iFlora) or a nightcap of kefir (better) or yoghurt (not quite as good). Try one of these at a time... if nothing works, try the probiotic/kefir/yoghurt in combination with either Beano or Super Enzymes. Usually, this is fixable.

I do not believe that there is any correlation between the production of intestinal gas and bloat. Bloat is the presence of large quantities of room air in the stomach, not any sort of gas forming process.
I saw some gas pills for dogs i think at Pet-smart ! maybe you can go check or just call them and ask. that is if you have a pet-smart near you. Boxer are bad about doing that too but the one i have now isn't that bad but i did notice it with the one i use to have. and maybe he does it at night cause he has already had his meal , right. well good luck on finding those pills.
