Blue Buffalo Salmon formula question?
I plan on switching my dogs from BB chicken basics to BB salmon basics,I was wondering,so humans aren't supposed to eat fish more than 2-3 times a week due to high mercury levels in fish,so how does this work with dog food?I have to imagine that dogs shouldn't eat that much mercury either,So please correct me if im wrong, and explain why or why not this wouldn't be the same for dogs as it is for humans.
P.S. I asked a local Blue Buffalo rep.about this, and he was quite puzzled over it to.
I would switch to Taste of the Wild's fish dry food, they are a better quality brand. Or switch to their bird food. That is a good question but maybe feed your dog a raw food diet a few times a week and the dry food a few times a week.
Fish get Mercury from the water where they are living. So you only have to worry if where the fish come from has mercury in it or not. Not all bodies of water have mercury
