My two year old dachshund is acting weird. I left here home alone one night and when I came back she would growl and bite at me. Plus she's playing with a toy bone that she never paid any attention to before hand. What is wrong with ? How can I fix this?
My dog has a pink/red mark on her nose for a long time, but it never bothers her. Is the mark raised? If so, I'm not sure what it is, maybe a bug bite. Also, is she spayed? If not, that might be what's causing the problem - dogs tend to be more angry if they are not spayed/neutered. I don't know about the bone, that's probably just a coincidence. If you don't plan on breeding her, and if she's already not, you should get her spayed. It would be a nuisance to her and you if you didn't. Does she get mad at you when chewing the bone/other toys ? If so, she's probably just protective of it. Sorry if I didn't help!
I would wonder if she got bit on the nose by something. My dachshund got bit by a bee on his upper lip this past summer. I had to pull the stinger out. Keep an eye on that. She may have also have been digging at a door or somewhere else. Maybe that's why her nose is pinkish. She may just be freaking out if that was the first time she was left home alone. If you are really concerned I would suggest you take her to the vet.
has she had all her shots? Rabies? that would be a good detail to add.
