I took my dog out for a walk tonight, same as I do every night. I scanned the area, same as I do every night. There was nothing around; neighborhood is well lit, etc. Yet, I felt VERY uneasy. But, I kept it to myself. My dog loves walking around at night and he looks forward to it; goes berserk at the door which is quite adorable.
Anyways, once we were out walking he started walking in circles and stayed very near me. I tried to egg him on to walk around but he wouldn't. Suddenly, he booked it to the door of the house.
Now, this is unlike my dog. When he senses danger he gets very hostile and vocal; very protective. But tonight he just wanted to come back inside. Now I felt very uneasy too but I didn't let my dog know.
So, what do you think about this? Ever experience something similar? Do we and animals share a sixth sense about things in general?
Dog's have been known to read people. If you were feeling uneasy than he probably felt it. There's a documentary out that I don't remember the name of as of right now, but they compared pictures of faces to both apes and dogs and the dogs were easily able to tell the emotion much more than the apes. It's also vice versa we can tell what a dog means by his cry/bark without ever meeting the dog.
could have been too cold outside, infact .. there are many answers to this .. I don't believe dogs sense anything .. they can pick up on your mood however so that maybe why ..
