most of the time my 2 dogs will only eat or drink from my hand, or a spoon/fork.
why is that?
Because you are conditioning them to do that.
If you want them to be like normal dogs just feed them in bowls and keep fresh water down for them at all times. They'll figure out HOW to eat and drink like a normal dogs.
Theses dogs are following your lead on this. I don't think any dogs in the wild are fed from someone's hands and/or utensils. Yet ... they have survived for years.

Well I don't know why the dogs would be fed with a spoon/fork in the first place. They aren't human and you have babied them like they are, to the point where that's all the will accept.
Leave food and water in a dish (or feed on a schedule). They won't eat it at first, but when they get hungry - They will eat! You can try putting something appetizing on top or with the food (treats). .
thats because you feed them from your hand, spoon/fork! and they love the attention they get. if you would stop feeding them from hand and put down the bowl with food, eventually they will eat from bowl:)
I voted for the first answer because its the truth lol I have a puppy who is a picky eater and I just about wrecked him trying to tempt him to eat by hand feeding him.
Everyone is absolutely right. You've basically trained them to eat that way. So STOP! And leave them DOG food in a DOG bowl and they'll eventually eat it!
YOU have trained them to do that! It isn't a good habit .. but they are your dogs.
