The problem is with a parasite of cats, not dogs. Dogs are fine. Most don't use litter boxes either.
Not so long as you take appropriate precautions - wear disposable gloves, use poop bags that you can knot and dispose of, then wash your hands well afterwards. What we should all do, all the time, really.
