Combat Roach Posion, Dog ate it, Help!?

We have those little black plastic Combat Roach Posion things around the house. We just put them there last night. This morning, our dog (a 26 pound Sheltie) was chewing on one.

He did put holes through the center, and I do think he may have eaten a small amount of the roach poison (there is still a good amount left in the container though) but I'm terrified he may have eaten just enough to have seriously harmed himself.

We called the emergency vet hotline and they are going to call us back but until then, I would greatly appreciate ANY advice on what to do, or just more info on the situation.

Some web sites have said to try and make the dog throw up by using hydrogen peroxide, but I am scared to do so in case that website was invalid.

Please help if you can. Thank you.
Sorry about your dog and I hope pooch is better soon! You should have induced vomiting with hydrogen peroxide (remember you can only do it with in the first 30 minutes of it being ingested) , after that it is not effective. Also, never induce vomiting if your dog swallowed an object it could do more damage than good.

You will still need to watch your dog for a couple of days to make sure there is no blood in his stool or blood in his vomit should he throw up again.

The vet will advice you on the rest!

Good luck and hope pooch is better soon! *; *

You should call your vet also to be sure your dog will be cared for if necessary.

I wouldn't wait - vet now. I know what rat poision can do.

Make dog throw up ASAP - not dangerous to do this with that. Only dangerous if what was swallowed will do more damage coming up. This is not the case here.
Call again. Who cares if they get annoyed. They might have gotten sidetracked. i once force fed hydrogen peroxide to my dog bc he ate chocolate. the vet told me to.
Put the dog in the bath tub and force the dog to drink hydrogen peroxide till it starts throwing up. That site was not invalid, and that is what a vet would do. I also recommend making sure the dog drinks plenty of water after you induce vomiting.

Keep a close watch on your dog for any signs of distress like pacing, panting, whining, acting like its in pain, shaking, expelling blood in either vomit, urine, or feces, etc.

Make sure to follow the emergency vets instructions, and get your dog to your regular vet as soon as you can.
