When a dog chews sticks & wood does it mean the dog is lacking something in it's diet or it just wants to chew or both? My puppy (4 months) keeps wanting to gnaw on my baseboards & doorframes even though I got him plenty of chew toys.:/

This isn't good for the baseboards and the puppy this is perfectly normal but stop it because if you don't when they get older they will continue and you will have to replace your baseboards. To stop it rub tabasco sauce on it and it will stop this. Don't dip it on so the baseboards are red just make it so it has the taste. The puppy will not like the taste and hopefully not do it.
Puppies are like that, you gotta train them to chew on their toys and bones, NOT furniture.
Maybe some teeth are coming out.
