How to stop my dogs from fighting?

I have a pekingese named Daisy that is about 7 years old. I recently adopted a Australian shepherd, Shadow witch is now 6 months old. Shadow always wants to play with daisy but she attacks shadow and starts a fight. How can i get them to stop?
take a can and put coins in it, everytime they start fighting shake the can. they will get scared and then they will stop fighting this works i have 2 dogs and i did this, it worked, i learned this from the dog whisper. hope this was helpful
Not so simple. It will take dedication and work. Start by finding a trainer that specializes in multi-dog households. You need to get a handle on this now because sooner or later, the young pup will come in to his/her own (unsure if Shadow is male or female) and decide he/she has had enough. The tables will have to turn at some point so you want to make sure your dogs know that NEITHER one is the lead dog and you will need to learn to read all the signs. I don't think you can get this on your own easily.
Slowly introduce them. Your dog is really old so its going to take some time for he/she to get used to the puppy. If they absolutely don't get along then just keep them in separate. But i think you should just slowly introduce them and let your older dog get used to the puppy.
she is pretty old so the obvious is that she isnt going to be in the mood for playing every time the young pup wants to play. ive had a similar problem but time is the key .. just be around when they are together.
Eventually they will get used to each other and Shadow will grow out of it but until then try to keep them away from each other as much as possible (seperate rooms, one indoor one out, etc.) and when they are together make sure it is suppervised .
You need to get a trainer involved here. If you don't, sooner or later the Peke is going to get hurt when the Aussie gets bigger.
