why is my dog so hungry after surgery?

she is 11 and just had 4 tumors removed and doing well but always hungry
Sometimes they can be very hungry due to being fasted prior to the surgery. Often times when tumors are removed, the veterinarian will put your pet on a steroid ( either at home by mouth, or an injection in hospital). Steroids such as Dexamethasone or Prednisone can cause increased water consumption, increased urination and increased appetite. If your pet was not put on a steroid and it lasts longer than a week, contact your veterinarian.
