Why are English Bulldogs so expensive?

I have wanted an English Bulldog for so long, but I feel like I'll never be able to get one because they are soooooo expensive.

I've searched online and the cheapest I found was about $ 1,500. The most I found was about $ 3,500.

Why are they so expensive?
Probably because they're so difficult to breed. They can't conceive without help, and almost always need a C-section because of the way that their bodies are built, which can cost the breeder a good couple thousand. Breeding responsibly is expensive anyways, but with bulldogs and similar breeds it's just insane.

But, if you want an English Bulldog so bad, there's probably a breed rescue nearby that has them for a lot cheaper (think roughly $ 50 - $ 350, depending). And you'd be saving a life:)
Because they have a lot of health problems, and because it's VERY expensive to breed them. They always need C-Sections, which is very expensive. And they are hard to breed in the first place. Like French Bulldogs, artificial insemination is almost always a must.
No. Not really ... They arent that expensive where I live. Have you tried looking at the Never ending puppy sale at Pet Pros? They sometimes sell pets there for around 300 $! Maybe the one's your looking at are purebred , and have Champion relatives. That usually makes them cost alot more
Because lots of Bulldogs have champion lines and have become extremely popular over the years so the owners try to make more money off them because of the popularity and lines that they were bred on.
Because they're expensive to raise. They have small litters and frequently need c-sections. They also tend to have medical issues if they're not carefully-bred.
Because their body makes them hard to breed. The male has a hard time mounting the female. And the female can't give birth without a C-Section.
