If you REWARD someone monetarily for breeding unscreened mutts, then you're not rescuing - you're BUYING.
You have the dog, so what in the world does it matter now? Unless you're pissed that you're out $ 50?
Don't worry about it, raise the dog right, be aware that some health issues will likely crop up as the dog matures, and don't ever buy from a Backyard Breeder or Puppy Mill ever again.
I would call it a mixed terrier, unless it gets big like a Belgian Malinois. It looks like a short haired terrier. It's mother provably had longer hair.
