i bought a bottle of liquid dewormer yesterday and it says it gets rid of large round worms and hookworms. now my dog hasnt been gaining weight lately and i know she doesnt have heartworms. if i give my dog the dewormer will she start to gain weight again?
I can tell by the choice of cheap and horrible dog food you purchase that you did not get your dewormer from a veterinarian. What are you going to do about the whip worms and the tapeworms and the heart worms ... Since you already know that your dogs has no heart worms because you have had that diagnostically tested at the veterinarian (right?) you must also know that the cheapy store bought de worm and flea meds are not effective
What kind is dewormer? If it's Pyrantel then thats a common dewormer that a vet would give. It's harmless to give, even if she doesn't have worms. If you're concerned, a vet could give you a prescription dewormer (Drontal or Panacur). But there's always the chance that she has something else going on and that's why she is losing weight. Also, you cannot know she doesn't have heartworms unless you test her, sorry. It sounds like she needs a trip to the vet. If she's sick , or losing weight, they may want to run a 4DX (Heartworm, Lyme, Ehrlichia, and Anaplasmosis test) along with possibly a full blood panel and fecal if your're concerned about worms.
You've had a lot of questions about your dog being skinny, not gaining weight & that you don't have money for a vet. Call your local humane society or spca, often they have low cost clinics. Have your dog's stool tested and find out exactly what kind of parasite (if any) that your dog has. There are many reasons why a dog doesn't gain weight --- it could be totally unrelated to diet or parasites, may require blood work to be done.

You need to follow your own advice, borrow money from someone & take the dog to the vet.
"Take Him To the vet. If there's ever something wrong with your dog or any pet and youre not sure what to do always take them to your vet so they know what to do and the proper way to do it."
ya, go to the vet first of all or get the capsules that work better. Please switch dog foods! I do not support Purina-corn is not digest able and there is no meat in it!
Beneful? You might as well be letting her graze from a corn field.
Ever thought * maybe * the food's causing her to be skinny because of it's absolute LACK of nutrients? Try something with MEAT.
She'll only gain weight if the reason she's thin is worms ... just follow the instructions.
All OTC stuff is useless crap!
