How to get my puppy not to bite?

I found this dog as she was 2 weeks old in an abandoned field just laying down in the hot sun, and convinced my parents to let me keep her but I have to buy her food and pick up after her and all that.

Recently she's been attacking my little sister. She'll bite my sisters pant leg and hang onto it. My mom told my sister to kick her and hit her in the nose if she does this. I know this isn't right but she wont stop doing it. And my little sister will fall down and cry, and my puppy will keep biting her. Its never been on the face or on the rest of her body just her legs. Ever since she found out she could take down my little sister she'll do it out of no where. And when my mom pushed her away because she was begging she nipped my moms hand and unless I can figure out how to stop her from biting I cant keep her.

She doesn't bite me at all. And when she does its because I have a toy in my hand and she's trying to get it.

She is a Black Labrador/Blue Nose Pitbull mix, if that helps with anything. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

A) if you found this dog, it may have an owner or it may well be ill or have an infection or some kind of mite/flea, so take it to a vet first.

B) pitbulls are notoriously vicious, so maybe it's just the breed (kids get killed by these dogs, so keep your sister away unless an adult is close by)

C) lock her in a cage every time she bites or nips, and shout at her

D) don't try this yet, as she's too young, but if it continues after about a month or two, (and i know it sounds harsh and cruel, but it worked for my dog, and he's fine now) if he bites you, just bite his ear. It sounds gross to put your mouth around a dog, but just do it with your teeth, and the tip of her ear. Don't actually bite it off, obviously, but just until she squeals a bit . pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

Good luck!! And if it carries on still, get rid of the dog, as a full grown untrained pitbull cross can be deadly.
Ok I had the same problem with my puppy. What you have to do is whenever she does that take her away and put her in her cage. Whenever she barks ignore it like she's not there. If she nips put her in her cage too. The problem will only get worse if its not caught early. This is what my dog trainer says so I tried it and it worked for me. I hope it works for you too. Best of luck.
you should stab it and than frie it in ur grill and cut it up into little icecube but REMEBR PLEASE REMEMBER to cook it meduim rare with some hot sause thats the best:) oh and also take out the eye balls first before you do any of this and keep it as a prize :)...... belive me he will thank you later
ok everytime she bites just grab her and tell her no and scream it out. after a month or two of doing that she will hopefully stop if not do the same thing but this time also get a newspaper and wrap it up and hit hurt. don 't hit it to hard just enough so she understand not to
Never hit it! She is still a baby and uses her teeth to learn and its normal for puppies to bite everything. Everytime she bites someone, just throw her a chew toy that she likes.

Your puppy is very cute and it's a Labrador.

When she starts to bite, tell her a big NO! .. Little by little she will learn that bite is bad.

Have a nice day,

Cat.
Give her a toy and when ever shes around your sister and not biting her give her a treat

i suggest beggin 'strips by Purina

my dog will be an angel just to get a piece of it
By a spray irritant (non toxic) to spray at the nose of the dog when he bites. It's worth a try.
hit it.
Ok your puppy did not learn from her mom or siblings on not to bite so you have to teach her. Never hit your puppy because it does not work it will just cause more problems. Tell your little sister and your mother that if she does this tell them to say ouch in a high pitched tone. This is what a puppy's mother would do and siblings as well. If you see her go after your little sister go in between them and use your calm assertive energy to claim your sister until the dog backs off. no yelling or hitting make her see that you are the leader and she has to follow what you say. Watching the dog whisperer would help you a lot.

To the other answers: it is NEVER alright to be physically abusive to an animal.
