what happens if your dog has hip displasia?

  just wondering
It depends on the severity. There are medications that they may take and there are correctional surgeries that might help. They need a proper diet and gentle exercise; being of healthy weight is one of the most important treatments for hip dysplasia . For sure, affected dogs should not be allowed to breed because hip dysplasia is one of the most common genetic ailments, and it's irresponsible to allow it to be passed on to the next generation.
Depends on har far it has progressed or how painful.I had one GSD that had a hip replacement as he cried in pain.I have one now at 10yrs that handles it with good food and Glucosimine/Chrondrotin supplements ..
