Would an 8 month old puppy grow any more?
At the shelter I saw this adorable 8 month old Border Collie X Nova Scotia Duck tolling Retriever mix. He weighed 60 pounds and my mom said we can't get him if he is going to get a lot bigger because she doesn't want a big dog, she said 65 pounds is the very max. So do you think a male 8 month old duck toller/border collie would grow any bigger? And how big would you guess he would get? We talked to the shelter about it and they said it's hard to tell because they just got him in on Monday night, but he has big paws so he might grow a bit more but it's hard to tell.
I just wonted to your opinions.
Thanks!
answer: Yes. He will continue to grow until he is 18 months old, since he is a large breed. This dog is not full grown yet!
The pup is already as tall (or nearly so) as he'll ever be, but he will continue to add weight and muscle until he reaches his adult size, usually between 18 months and 2 years of age. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com
But that doesn't mean he'll grow a LOT more, just means he'll 'fill out' a bit. Neither the BC nor the NSDTR is a LARGE breed, so if that's really what he is (and not something larger in the mix), I don't think he'll get a lot bigger than he is.
He could keep growing. Mixed-breed dogs don't adhere to a breed standard and therefore it's impossible to predict health, temperament, trainability, coat, size/weight, etc. If your mom is concerned about size, adopt an adult dog.
Neither of those breeds get much more than that. The dog will probably grow another inch tall and muscle up. I would go for it. (that is if they got the mixes right. If there is golden in there then he may get heavier.)
No the most he'll weigh is about 62 lbs. Keep him exercised well and he'll b under 65
He may grow a little bit more but not much.

Most likely he will fill out some more...
ya , surely
Big dogs don't stop growing until they are 1 year old. If the dog's feet are only a little bigger that means he will only grow a little bit more.
