Why wont my chihuahua bark? he is 6 months and a half old?
my chihuahua is 6 1/2 months old, and he has only barked 4 times. i got him when he was 8 weeks old!
your neibjor got one of those dog shut the **** up radar radio transmittors. they send brain waves or some **** to your dog and it doesnt bark.
Not all dogs bark all the time, be grateful.
Why would you WANT him to bark? A dog I used to have only barked four times, in the fifteen days I knew him, he only barked for four times. And he was playing when he did so.
Your chihuahua is displaying great behavior, to be honest. I've seen way too many hyper chihuahuas disturbing me at two AM in the morning, and I'd gladly welcome a calm chihuahua into my arms if I could. Don't worry about it all. Be grateful! :P

Doesn't feel the need to, maybe? Soak it in, because Chis are pretty barky little dogs and their barks are annoying.
My Chihuahua didn't start barking until he was about 5 months old. But what i would do is take a blanket and put your hand underneath it and start moving it around him, try to play with him. I love playing with my Chihuahua, Cubby. It's his favorite game to play.And it always makes him bark and growl at it. I hope it help:)

For example, she barks when in her cage or around new dogs.
My dog is 5 1/2 months old. She started barking at about 5 months. Literally the first time she was placed in her crate.
Does she whimper instead? Or nothing. And I agree, while that is something that...you might be worried about, all dogs take they're own pace on certain things. The important thing is that she's healthy and happy, yes?
