Why does my dog overturn its bed?
i recently adopted a dog. she's been with me for about 4-6 weeks. she's a little bit nervous sometimes when she's been left alone still, though it's getting better.
i'm sometimes finding her bed overturned or sitting elsewhere on the floor than where it was left. it happens when there's some kind of schedule change, change around the house or other incident that i could see causing her stress. i don't see teeth marks or rips in it, so i don't think that she is biting it. (she's a german shepherd; it's pretty obvious when she's chewed on something.) my question is this: what is she doing with it? and why? is she throwing it? is she digging in under it as some kind of comfort gesture? what is happening here, and what's it all about?
anyone experience something similar or have any ideas?
your dog overturns its bed because he is feel nervous.
I'd look at where it's moving to or toward and seeing if she's trying to take it somewhere more safe/comfortable. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com
She could also just be playing with it if it's just kind of random. Many dogs like stuffed toys. Does she have squeaky toys to play with?
Take the bed out and put a blanket in maybe she doesn't like to lay on the bed. If she moves the blanket just leave her in the crate without anything. She could be doing it out of stress give her a chew toy.
Usually when dogs moves they're beds around it means that they are either playing with it or just moving it in a more comfortable spot for them, no need to worry. Good luck with your german shepherd! :)
