My Great Dane isn't as big as i thought he would get?
i grew up with great danes but i dont really remember much about how much they grew at what age. soo we just celebrated my Great Danes 1st birthday.
hes a boy and he weighs somewhere in the 120's. maybe almost 130. (havent had him weighed in a month or 2). hes laying with me right now so i dont wanna bother him and make him get up so i can measure him but last time i checked im pretty sure hes somewhere around 32 inches tall.

well today we had him playing with my friend's great dane , which is WAY BIGGER then mine. but that great dane is almost 3 yrs old.

will mine keep growing? or do they not grow much after a year?

i dont mind. i dont want him just cuz his size lol. i love him. i was just wondering.
he is really healthy. everyone and all the vets love him and say he has a beautiful coat and he is very lean and muscular. he's a really good lookking dog, hes just not as big and thick as other greats danes
Giant breeds, especially the males, often take until over 2, going on 3 before they are fully mature, certainly when it comes to 'bodying up'. I do believe their frames are there sooner however. It could just be that your Dane comes from a smaller line. You need to look at mum, dad, and the grandparents, to see whether your lad is going to be big, or not.
He will grow up! dont worry are his parents big? his granparents? even if he dosnt get that big he has a great onwer who will love him!
Large breeds like Danes keep growing even after a year. I think they are about full size at 18 months-2 yrs.
