Wondering about what will happen with my Boston Terrier if she breeds with a Chiuaua?
I know that the Bo-Chi isn't a recognized breed, I am aware that Breed-lovers consider them mutts. But I am curious to know if I Boston Terrier would have the normal birth problems if bred with a Chiuaua? My next door neighbor has a Boston (female) and I have a Chiuaua (male), we were thinking about letting them have a litter so that a couple of friends of mine can have puppies, but she is worried about the problems that Boston's have with pregnancies and births. Due to the thicker skulls of the Boston breed and the fact that Boston's aren't natural whelpers (I know I've spelled this word wrong). If anyone has a valid response please let me know please. Anyone leaving disparaging remarks will be ignored. I know that everyone is entitled to their opinion about dog breeding, I am not a puppy miller, and I am fully aware of what a mutt is.
Why chance a c-section when it can be avoided? There's no reason to breed these two dogs...just because you can is not a solid reason. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com
Get your dogs fixed, and leave the breeding to the pros...
There are already many, many, many homeless dogs in this world that need a home, tell your friends to look around at your local shelters and adopt one before it is euthanized. Breeding more dogs is unnecessary.
She is right to fear the potential complications. The chances of a c-section are high. Bostons tend to pass on the skull size and mating outside her bred will do nothing to improve her natural ability to whelp. Price the cost of the operation before you go any further--its nothing to sneeze at. She needs to research puppy care and should also research orphan puppy care--this is not an easy birth senario and things might go wrong.
Well first off you and the Boston's owners would be bybs not puppymillers. And there is no "consider them mutts" they would be mutts not "Bo-chis" or any other silly name. There are ALWAYS risks when it comes to breeding. Since you have to ask though the best thing for BOTH these dogs are to be fixed.

And if your friends want dogs they can go to the shelter or find reputable breeders or purebreds.

BTW plenty of Bostons can free whelp. The need for a c-section can arise for a number of reasons. Either way neither of you know enough about breeding pregnancy or whelping to be even thinking about it.
