I have a 1 year old tea cup chihuahua and he wont bark. I know you are wondering why I would want him to but he doesn't bark at all! I have only heard him bark once while playing with my husband but he won't do it consistenly while playing. I know he can bark but he won't. Not with the doorbell or around new dogs or people. He is silent.

I had a dog like that. He only barked is he got hurt, or if someone stepped on his foot or something in that nature....

my dog was the same way until around 7 months old, now he rarly barks at strangers passing the house, or something in that nature. he may come around, some dogs just dont bark. fortunatly!

I don't know why it happens, but my dog doesn't bark either. She never has, except when she feels threatened in some way.

Count yourself lucky. My dog wont shut up!
