My dog got spayed today; so far I hate it.?
She came back home like 6 hours ago and she wasn't herself. She was all weird and couldn't even walk correctly; that stupid vet said it because he put her under, and it hadn't completely worn off yet. He also said it would be like an hour or so until she would be completely back to normal. Yeah right.
All she's done so far is stay in her dog house and throw up once. I called her, she won't answer to her name. She went outside (of the dog house) for a bit and she just stood there doing nothing for what seemed like 10 minutes. It was like she was falling asleep standing up. I had to push her back in the house or she would've stayed there.
And don't even get me started on that hideous scar she has.
I really regret this, she doesn't even recognize me now. :'(

I'm crying because I feel like she won't go back to normal. That idiot vet is a fake.
How were your experiences with spayed dogs? Were they the same as this one? ;'(
Everything you stated is completely normal it may take several days for her tio cone around and several weeks before she can heal completely. Let her be she needs rest.
That behavior is normal and she will come around after the medication wears off

And she should not be in a dog house, she should be in the house with you so you can give her the support and loving she needs now-Keeping her outside in a dog house after surgery is cruel
Give her time to recover! You wouldn't be all that active after surgery either. Anesthetic will sometimes cause nausea and vomiting, so this is normal.
Your dog will be back to her old self in a few days.
That "idiot vet" went to school for a long time and has had more training than you can imagine. How old are you? pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

It's normal. She's in pain. Give her time.

Would you rather her whelp tons of pups in her lifetime and have 90% of those puppies die because of the pet overpopulation?
Stop being so dramatic. It takes some dogs 24 hours to fully come out of the anesthesia, and then she will be in pain and not herself for a few more days. The scar will heal as well, to the point you won't even notice it. Your dog just had an hysterectomy and you expect her to be herself the same day. You really need something else to worry about

I don't care if the vet works out of a barn - he STILL has the same years of education as every other vet in the US, and no one forced you to bring your dog to the 'dingy' office to get her spayed, you walked in with her, made the appointment, dropped her off & picked her back up. My guess is you weren't even listening to what the vet told you
First of all, a dog recovering from SURGERY SHOULD BE INDOORS!! You'd have to be stupid not to know that! pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

It's been 6 frickin hours - CHILL! It could take her up to a couple of days to return back to normal. She just had her uterus removed, she's not going to bounce back in an hour.

I don't think it's your Vet who is the idiot here...

Never had a problem after Spaying or Neutering ANY of my pets.
She should be in the house for at least the first week so you can supervise the healing, not "shoved" into a doghouse outside.

It's going to take a day or two for her to start eating and acting like herself, and she's going to be in pain for a while also so she shouldn't do any running and jumping for at least 2 weeks.

The scar will heal and the fur will grow back.

You need to calm down and do some research before you go bashing your vet!!

Edit:
"Recover" as in wake up... not heal!
Have you ever had major surgery... or even a tooth pulled?... were you healed and back to 100% in an hour?? NO... dogs do not magically heal!
it's all in your head. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com
it did not change her personality at all.
when humans get surgery, THEIR PERSONALITY DOES NOT CHANGE.
dogs are the same.
she is shaky after it! she is groggy! calm down and stop talking bad about your vet. they know a lot more than you do.
Just be patient! She has been home for six hours, she just had surgery. The scar will go away and her behaivour is normal. She will be back to normal once all the medicine wears off. You don't go straight back to normal a few hours after surgery either x.x
Dude, seriously, settle down. She just got out of a surgery... surgery needs recovery time afterwards. Let her recover and soon she will be back to normal. I can't believe your vet didn't give you any information on recovery time for your dog and what you should do to help her to recover.
