Golden-Doodle or Doberman?
My parents think that we are ready for a dog in the next month! Im am SO excited :)
My parents are thinking about a doberman OR a golden doodle. We dont mind the shedding that much scince its a type of dog we like ( doberman) so we are willing to do more work. Golden doodles dont shed alot so that will be easy too.
Any suggestions on which one and any names?????????
Also, i would appreciate only nice and sencire, thoughtfull questions not ones saying " you shouldn't get a dog" because thats not the question i asked you.
I dont care if a golden doodle is a mutt or not too.
Thanks :)
Mutts crossed with poodles DO shed - don't buy into the hype. Goldendoodles are NOT a breed of dog. Dobies have very short coats and are easy to groom. You will have a lot of grooming for the mutt if you choose that.

BTW only backyard breeders and mills breed mutts.
Dobe! Why? Because only backyard breeders & puppy mills breed mutts. You won't find one that is predictable, and comes from titled & health clearanced parents.
I like dobermans and a
male name
- brownie
female
- cupcake
Btw make sure it gets plenty of excersize because they are an active breed n look up the best dog food so it stays happy n healthy
good luck :-)
Golden Retrievers are high-shedding dogs. Even Poodles shed a bit. Common sense dictates that the Golden Retriever X Poodle mix absolutely WILL shed -- I've known several Lab X Poodle mixes that have shed twice as much as my Lab X Border Collie mix -- don't fall for the scam!
Unless you're adopting from a shelter, don't pay someone to create more -mutts- while shelter -mutts- die. Find a good, reputable Doberman breeder and purchase a pup (if you think you can handle a Doberman) -- if not, adopt.

ADD: Actually, Bee, they're not better for people with allergies -- most people are allergic to the oils in the skin and/or the saliva of the animal; not the hair, so shedding has nothing to do with it.
And how is a Golden Retriever/Poodle different than a Labrador/Chihuahua mix? Just because someone gave it a moronic name? They don't breed true, they aren't accepted by a legit kennel club registry--they are NOT a breed.
maybe i would take the doberman, but socialize it early!!
if you want a much friendlier dog by nature, probably the goldendoodle :)
*i hate when people say its a 'mutt and you dont know.'
ok mutt....great dane x saint bernard?
...............yorkie x maltese?
...............chihuahua x greyhound?
You should care that its a mutt if your paying for it. Really. Why would you want to purchase a mixed breed dog when you could just adopt one? I don't think you understand, Only horrible breeders breed mutts intentionally. The only dogs who should be bred are show champion dogs or working dogs, but never mutts. Now, that being said you need to do some research because everyone will have their opinions on different breeds and what might be a good dog breed for them may not be for you. Study up on dobermans and see if one would fit you and your family's life style. Don't just get a dog because you like the way it looks. I REALLy challenge you to research Back Yard Breeders and puppy mills and see the types of places 'designer dogs' like you 'goldendoodle' comes from. It will change your mind. Golden retrievers and poodles are both good dogs but if you want one just adopt it!
Goldendoodles aren't mutts. They're designer dogs, apparently. A labrador chihuahua mix, or a St. Bernard Poodle mix would be a mutt. Goldendoodles are not.

They DO shed, they're just better for people with allergies. They're not hypoallergenic, no dog is, but they're sure better than some other breeds.
It would depend on your lifestyle. Dobermans, for example, do better in the heat than goldendoodles. Dobermans are a bit more energetic than goldendoodles. All of these changes are rather little, since goldendoodles and dobermans alike are lovely breeds, but if you had to pick based on environment, I'd go along those little differences.

Well, as with any dog breed that has a long coat, it essential to do weekly or daily brushing to prevent matting. So as long as you are up for that responsibility, then it is okay :-)
I like both breeds! But I'd pick a Goldendoodle and name her Jasmina LOL
Good Luck deciding!
