Thousands of breeders and show-is-all people around the world would LOVE to know an answer for THAT question!
Accept that you can NOT "make" a pooch with an imperfect shape into a pooch with a perfect shape. You have to plan ahead, and you have to select carefully.
I got very close in my 1982 G-litter, which combined 3 of my bit.ch-lines - but he failed to produce his last P1 tooth, so was exported as a security dog.
? Step 1:
Define what the "perfect shape" is. (For GSDs it is defined in:
http://www .fci.be/uploaded_files/166A199 ... Note that ATTITUDE and CHARACTER are deemed more important than mere shape.)
? Step 2:
Pick a stud & brood who are VERY close to that perfect shape and whose own parents are also VERY close to that perfect shape. Mate them together, then wait.
? Step 3:
Select the pup that looks to have inherited the perfect shape. Let it exercise as much as it wants; feed it highly nutritious meals to supply the energy & minerals it needs to both increase in size and grow perfect bones and perfect muscles.
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com It is unlikely that that pooch will achieve perfection, but by trying several different combinations and then inter-mating the best of your results you should be able to get pretty close inside 20 years.
And learn that the breed's real name translates as German Shepherd Dog - 3 words in the proper noun, so 3 capital letters needed, and GSD for short.

Keeping him healthy is a good way. High quality food, not too many treats, plenty of exercise and mental stimulation, etc.
Adjust his food intake to his recommended body weight for his size. Take him out and play fetch.
