My aussie we just got saturday is five months old, at first he was very good with the little dog. Now he sometimes will stare at him and then kinda jump and nip. He was an outside farm pup so he loves to chase our cat. I need help stopping both of these problems asap .. HELP!
its his breed. call a behaviorist because you can still break his drive to do this. it will take time but it can happen. trust me. i have a similar problem with my dog but they have stopped now. it can be stopped
I really don't think an Aussie was good for you because they are very high energy, high prey drive dogs that need an abundance of exercise, training, and some sort of job to keep them occupied. I know from working with them at shows that they can be wonderful dogs if you tire them out properly. The Pomeranian and cat are in serious danger, though he is only a puppy right now, he can do some serious damage and will only get worse as he gets older. This dog should be neutered also. But, Aussies are not like a Pomeranian you can expect to exercise itself in the backyard, you need to walk it probably a good three miles a day, have training sessions, go jogging, play frizbee, do agility, do flyball, and do some herding. You are in way over your head and might want to think about finding him another place to stay because even with training, he has a naturally high prey drive that can never be "cured" only worked around.
Your Aussie is stalking your Pomeranian and your cat as prey. This breed can be very prey-driven. They are bred to nip at things that they tend to herd, and it's a behavior you probably won't be able to break - it's bred into this dog to behave this way. This dog may be an excellent herding dog but he may not be safe around small animals. Honestly, your smaller animals are at risk and this dog may not be right for your home.
