My dog was spayed on Friday: when we got her home she did eat and drink a little. Saturday she had diarrhea and vomiting all day and last night. Is this normal a day and a half after the surgery?
Occasionally the anaesthetic will produce quite loose stools. And immediately after coming home, some will vomit their food, even if they actually eat it. It's always best to restrict what you offer to something bland - scrambled egg, fish, boiled chicken, and not much bulk. Just enough to keep their strength up. And fresh water should always be available, but again, during the evening they come back, only allow them to have a little at a time, because often this 'bounces' too.
What you describe wouldn't be what I'd want to see - vomiting can't be nice on what is major abdominal surgery in any case. Pick up the phone and speak to the vet - they won't mind, in fact they 'd rather hear from you with post-op problems, than for you to leave it and things go badly wrong. Each patient reacts differently.
