Three times per day is sufficient until 6 months old, and then twice per day for life.

Puppies really don't need the last thing meal much past 8/9 weeks, depending on how well they are doing.
My schedule, for a 10 week puppy, of my breed, would have been
Breakfast around 7.30
Lunch around noon
Tea around 5 - 5.30
And again depending on the puppy, a small milky meal around 9 pm.
The first meal to be cut out being the late one, and then lunch by around 6 months, once again depending on weight etc.
I then keep mine on 2 meals a day, breakfast and tea, for life - daily amount split into two.
