Inside your house with you is better but if you cant let her inside your house, get her a kennel that she can fit in easily. I wouldnt chain her up unless you dont have a fence around your house.

Let me answer your question like this. Would you put your child on a chain outside the house? The reason I asked that, is because your dog is a family member and you should treat it as such . It is no different than a child that depends on you for food, water, shelter, love etc. If you're not able to give the dog love, attention, interaction, why even have a dog in the first place. Isolating it , doesn't do much for the dog. So why even have one? People like you piss me off! You have no idea of your dogs needs. I am going to tell you something, your dog gives unconditional love, can you say that for yourself? Think about the animal, it depends on you for food, water, shelter and interaction, no more than a child. There is however, nothing wrong with your dog living in an outside dog house, as long as you interact with it , with walks, in-house time and playing. I apologize if you feel offended with my remarks, but I see so many people condemn there dogs to a life of solitude in a back yard confined with a chain around their necks.

As was mentioned, what's wrong with the house you live in? A comfy pet bed in the laundry or maybe a child's bedroom is a great place for a dog, if not the end of someone's bed, which is where my pup likes to sleep. :)
If having your pet inside really isn't an option for you, get a dog kennel that shelters your dog from the elements, so don't just pick up whatever. Depending on your climate, your dog may need to be protected from things like heavy rain, the cold or if you live somewhere like me, the heat. Make sure it always has clean, comfortable bedding and water available. I always feed my dog at the same time every day, but if they get hungry, I leave dog biscuits in a bowl next to their water.
There is nothing dogs hate more than being on a chain. It breaks my heart to see them on chains. Just make sure you have a fence around your yard, or train your dog not to run away. My dog is free to run around the yard, as well as the court I live in, he always comes back.:)

Chains are not OK. Dogs are companions, they are made to be with you, not outside to look at. Make a safe space for her in your home when you cant be with her all the time. This is where crate training can be useful. Just remember that they cant be in a crate all the time either. When you are home she needs to be with you:)
