i know what a typical therapy dog does, but i was wondering what a dog that was specifically trained to help people with adhd would do. what kind of tasks can it help with and how does it/can it be trained to do these tasks?

sorry but asthma and ADHD are not disabilities as defined by the ADA. I find it hard to believe that you get so distracted that a lil alarm on your wristwatch wouldnt catch your attention .

A Therapy Dog would do nothing for someone who has ADHD which is a learning disability like Pineapple said. An Assistance or Service Dog, on the other hand, could possibly remind you to take your medications by bringing them to you, but in my opinion, I really don't think your situation requires an Assistance or Service Dog. I agree with Bare Nekkid Truth! on this matter.
ADHD is not a disability as defined by the ADA .. it does not affect major life activities.
Get a stop watch, and set an alarm to remind you to take your meds .. problem solved.

you got your answers .. just not what you want to hear. ADHD would not qualify you for a service dog ... simple as that. Your "disability" does not prevent you from being able to do daily life skills. Your meds are not needed for a life-threatening illness. For what you want a dog for, it could easily be solved with a watch that has an alarm on it.
It would do nothing.

ADHD is a learning disability. ADHD kids are completely normal other than they are hyperactive and have trouble learning.
