My local Petland has puppies for sale?

and my breed which I adopted from the shelter for 250 they want 1,800 for and why would anyone pay this amount of money for a puppy, especially from petland? Is is just me who is weird for thinking this or is this the new norm?
It's not weird, it's commerce. And unfortunately there will always be the mug out there who will part with their hard earned money. And there are also some who feel they can afford to 'rescue' a puppy from a pet shop - without understanding that for every puppy that's sold, there will ALWAYS be another to fill his place. And there are also people who think paying these sort of prices automatically means they are getting something 'good', when in fact they are most likely buying a puppy bred in a Puppy Farm, or by a BYB who is supplying these Pet Shops.

Not weird, just terribly sad. And selling puppies/kittens in Pet Shops needs to be stopped.
Sadly, it's the "norm" for pet shops that support "puppy mills". They get that kind of money because na ? ve people PAY that kind of money! If they ONLY did some homework (FOR THAT MONEY) A they could have dealt with a reputable breeder who would guarantee their pups health AND be their mentor for life on the dog. Some people honestly do NOT know any better. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

When people buy at Petland ... they get a receipt (with what .... a 30-60 day guarantee)? They get a cute song and dance .... and an inferior pup who's been shipped, jostled around .. . and probably not cared for worth a damn. As long as people buy puppies from pet stores ... there will always be puppy mills. Then you have to think about the poor bi * ches .. locked up .. shelling out puppies heat after heat. It's criminal ....

We have a local pet shop that's actually been run out of one town ... and now she's here. She sells RUNTS and tells people they are "rare" mini's in the breed. I about had an argument with a gal who swore her dog was a "mini-corgi" and there was NO TELLING HER that there is NO SUCH THING as a mini-corgi. She finally stated they were so rare that people in the USA don't recognize them yet ... and the pet shop OWNER warned her she would run into this. This shop owner also gets "Service Dog in Training" badges/vests and instructs her patrons that's HOW they can get their dogs into places without them being actual service dogs. I was HOT when I heard about that stunt. I'm not sure who to report her to ... but when I figure it out .. I will. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

So .. no ... it's not the "norm" ... it's the full meal deal "scam".

.
They are able to do that becuase people want stuff easy with no work involved. However the work involved with getting a puppy from a responsible breeder is hard and long and can take over 6 months. People like that self gratification and would rather pay alot now and not bother with the long term effect or consiquences their purchase makes.
