My dog found a mouse out in the rain earlier today. He didn't kill it and it doesn't look like the mouse bit him at all. He has all his shots. This happened at around 1pm today and it's 3am now. My dog seems fine but is there anything a mouse can pass to a dog?
doubt it and if it were possible, my dogs should have it because they find mice all the time. Truthfully, the only concern I have ever had is a mouse that has eaten some poison (the stuff the slowly kills them) - and a dog eating a mouse after that - but that is usually mice close to homes or barns where homeowners have put down mice poison.
I wouldn `t worry now.
Wild mice commonly carry toxoplasma. That's often how cats contract it. It could potentially make your dog sick, but more seriously, it makes your dog a carrier. Many people actually have the dormant form of toxo, but the danger lies in transmission of the active organism to a fetus, which is often fatal.
Honestly though, you probably have nothing to worry about. That's just something a mouse can potentially pass on to a dog. They could also pass chaga's disease, but pack rats are more of a concern for chaga's. Chaga's will actually manifest in the body for years and years undetected until the patient dies of a heart attack, and the disease is often undiagnosed and shrugged off as a regular ole heart attack.

Sorry I know you didn't ask for all that info, I just find it interesting
a common field mouse shouldn't be a concern but you must make sure neighbors didn't put out mouse or rat poison as if so it's now in your dog if the dog ate the mouse or the mouse bit the dog
yes there are a couple of illnesses your dog can get but only if bitten or the mouse has something contagous
