how healthy is kibble? please no ignorant answers. I am doing research and I just someone's little extra help. scientific articles only please.
It's not that they are always hungry, but if human food is around they are going to want to eat it because it tastes better then dog food. By 'kibble' do you mean dog food? Some dog food is healthy some isn't.
I don't think it's a case of dogs always being hungry; it's more a case of dogs being opportunistic feeders: that means any time food is available, they will eat it.

I cannot recommend feeding any of the commercial varieties of meat-flavored baked paste with chemicals added. Instead, why not feed your dog actual food? The dog's natural diet is raw meat on the bone. Try it. The dog will love it, the diet will help him teethe properly as a pup, satisfy his lifelong need to chew, keep his teeth clean and his feces innocuous.

The basic idea is to approximate a wild diet as closely as possible; raw meat on the bone and small amounts of organ meat [liver is most important, but also kidneys, pancreas, spleen, lungs and what is called green tripe]. Amount to feed is calculated as 2-3% of the dog's ideal adult body weight. Your veterinarian can help you estimate that; then you just do the math. You don't have to be exact; all amounts are to be averaged over a week or two. Dogs [not toys or puppies] that get big, complicated meals sometimes will eat for two days and then not again for five. All perfectly normal. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

Most raw feeders that I've read have started their dogs on chicken: it is readily available and inexpensive, plus it is antibiotic-and hormone-free. The fat content is easy to control.

No grain, vegetable or fruit is a significant part of a grey wolf's diet. Dogs are genetically grey wolves.
Well, This depends on a few things

First of all, if you feed your dog food with a lot of bi-products it will eat and eat and eat. These ingredients stop the dog from getting full as quickly.

Also, you want to search for a dog food without too much corn or rice, as these are just 'fillers'. They wont really benefit your dog in any way.

Look for something whos main ingredient is the flavor (if its chicken flavor, look for chicken (preferrable deboned chicken) as the main ingredient, lamb flavor, look for lamb, etc.)

Some good brands of food are Blue, and wellness (as these are hollistic) and castor and pollux Organix food (this is an organic food, and actually has carrots, bananas etc in it) pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

Normally I wouldnt recomend wet food, as this makes them gain weight, and makes them picky eaters. So if you feed them wet food regularly, and dont have it one night and try just dry food, most of the time they wont eat it.

Dont leave food down all the time, just put it down for breakfast and dinner. Give them 10-20 mins to eat it and take it away. They will have eaten what they want and wont over eat. This is also good becuase they will learn a schedule, and they will have a better schedule going to the bathroom.

=)

Hope I helped! Good luck!

also if your looking for an alternative to wet food, go for low sodium chicken broth, to add some moisture and a little flavor!
Dogs always act hungry, because they actually are.

Unlike a human stomach that is made like a pouch, a dog's stomach is like an accordion. These accordion like folds expand when food is eaten and the digestive juices get flowing when the food touches these walls.

Problem is, our dogs today rarely ever get truly full. Several people mentions wolves and how they always seek out food. That's partially true, but not quite right. A wolf after a true full meal will not seek out food, instead they chill out and digest their full bellies. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

Some people (including myself) who feed prey model raw will do gorge fast type feeding. Basically you allow the dog eat as much as he wants, then fast him for a few days. And I can tell you from experience that the woefull eyes and wanting of food actually DECREASES when the dog's have had a meal like this. Whereas if I just feed them their daily amount they always seem hungry even though they are tip top physical shape.
