is my bulldog normal?

i have a bull dog and he is 2. he is an english american bull dog mix. he is scared of everything, boxes, cords, louder noises, if something moves, helium ballons, alot of different things. i have had him since he is a pup. we have loved him and never neglected him, he is very well taken care of, we feed him normally, we dont yell at him unless he is bad (eating the cats food, not listening, etc.) and we ont yell much. we only got a cat 3 weeks ago and he is fine with her and this has been going on ever since he was a pup. he is a tiny bit better but not much. he comes every where with us, the car, on walks. he is very good with other dogs not a problem there, he likes our ferrets, and our cat so it isnt just dogs he likes its about everything. we dont ncourage it and we dont yell at him when he gets scared and i am thinking he wont grow out of it since he is older (2). his name is baxter but we mainly call him buddy. is there a reason why this is happening or how to stop it???
Sure, he's normal . he's just a very pampered pooch who thinks so much of his owners that his dependency readily and radically displayed when startled, and he automatically looks to his family for protection.

Some dogs are simply more timid than others, there is nothing wrong with him. The best way to stop it is to desensitize him to whatever he is scared of. What you do is distract him while he is being exposed to it and treat him if he doesn't react from it, it will take time since he is older, but the reward will be well worth it.

Hope this helps
There is no normal for mixes, you don't have a bulldog to say you have a bulldog (aka english bulldog) implies you have a purebred, you have mix of two kinds of bulldogs. I say there is no normal for mixes because there is no standard of traits as they are mixes, you have to look at both breeds, but I can assure you neither breed is suppose to be so weak nerved they are scared of everything. Weak nerves stem from bad breeding , you can't change a dogs genes I'm afraid.

You can try to desensitize him to noises, but that is about all you will be able to do, you probably can not cure him of his fears if he is this bad. Desensitizing takes time and effort, and like I said it does not always work.
