i have always LOVED pitbulls and before anyone answers i know what pitbulls are, i know that most think they are aggresive i do not belive that so please dont answer me to tell me that they are and i am stupied. i know their size an the training they need to have, i am also very adult minded and very responsible, i dont have much proof but i have had at least 5 dogs, 7 cats, many rodent (mice guinea pigs etc) fish, turtles, and i have baby sitted mre dogs cats, and even birds i also have a paper route that i do quite well. i live in Ontario Canada and i heard that in Canada it is illegal to breed pitbulls (i hate this if it is true - pitbulls are not bad aggressive dogs!) so what i want to know is it true that you cant breed them? can you still buy one in canada? if not is it legal in united states (i would consider relocating)? and how much do they normally cost? thank you and please no rude comments i just want some answers.: D
Sorry, that's right. Ontario has banned pit bulls entirely. That includes the breeding, sale and ownership of American Pit Bull Terriers and all other dogs that physically resemble the APBT (including but not limited to Staffordshire Bull Terriers and American Staffordshire Terriers). It was in 2005's Dog Owners' Liability Act that Ontario did this, in case you wanna look it up.
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com As for the legality of pit bulls in the US, well, it varies by location. Some places ban them completely, some have certain restrictions, and some treat them like any other breed. Here, you can use this page to find out how more specific areas treat pits:
http://www.understand-a-bull.com/BSL/Loc ... If you want to adopt a pit bull (which would be VERY easy to do in the US, the poor guys are in shelters everywhere!), It'd cost somewhere between $ 150 and $ 400 (which includes the costs of neutering/spaying, vaccinations , etc.). If you want to be sure that you're getting exactly what you want (a well-bred APBT that conforms to breed standards and whose parents are health-tested and titled), it'll run you at least $ 1000 to purchase from a quality breeder.
They are illegal in Ontario, I know that much because that is where Law Dogs USA gets a lot of their american pit bull terrier narcotics/detection dogs from, saving them from destruction and putting their drives to good use.

As for the rest of Canada, someone from there can elaborate some more.
You're not stupid for wanting a Pit Bull.
You are stupid for not knowing how to spell or punctuate.
At your age if you have had 5 dogs and 7 cats, where are they now? Doesn't make a very good case for you being responsible.
It's proven that Pit Bulls in the hands of stupid people are dangerous.
Sorry, you can't have one.
You can't have any type of "pit bull" in Canada. You can have them in most of the US. I just wanted to say that there are about 20 breeds of dogs that are called pit bull, the most common one is the American Pit Bull Terrier.
Can't breed pitties in Kansas city and the entire state of Texas is trying to ban the entire breed.Local shelters here are actually giving yes GIVING away pit bulls since our shelters are over populated and the dogs risk being euthanized.
You can own a APBT if you damn well want to. Just don't come trying when your BYB mongrel attacks a teacup mutant at the dog park .
depends on where you live
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com
depends if you rent or own your house
call your local animal control
they still breed and sell in us but again it depends on where you live.
city i live in they are not allowed
$ 250 up
You are right, you can't breed them here. My goodness you have had a lot of pets.
As far as I can tell, Pitbulls are illegal only in specific city or county areas. I don 't think there are any states that banned the breed (s) throughout the state. I would imagine that legislation is initiated because of the specific' incidents' involving irresponsible owners. Incidents that 'bad owners' create local people stirred up and legislation gets passed.
In my opinion, banning the breed is never the answer, because if a dog bites or kills someone, it is the owner who would be to blame ... Banning pitbulls won't stop criminals from getting them, and almost any breed can be made into a vicious, dangerous dog through mistreatment.
first of all, who are you trying so hard to convince?? Although I personally don't like the breed, many people do. Yes, they are legal in the US, but I certainly wouldn't relocate because of a pitbull. They are dangerous breeds, and any maulings you hear about are 90% from that breed. Its just in there instinct. Some are very sweet too. But, they CAN kill due to there locking jaw. If you get one, it is up to you to handle them completely. If they turn on anyone, they will be put down, and YOU will go to jail. So, be the responsible owner, train them, keep a muzzle on them in public.
