I have a 5 month/21 week old golden retriever puppy. My family has been feeding her about a cup, or a little more, for all three meals and she is looking a tiny bit chubby. Not terribly overweight, just a tiny bit. Are we feeding her too much? Please help!
I have a brand new golden retriever puppy too! she is fat. haha they always are chubby as puppies but they grow out of it. just feed about a cup of food twice a day. if it gets to be a problem as the dog gets older, there is always healthy weight formula dog food. consult with your vet if it gets to be noticably a problem. (:
Serve your puppy between 3/4 to 1 cup of dry food softened with warm water at each meal. Keep the food available for 20 minutes and remove it if your puppy hasn't eaten it. But if you don't feel confident of my answer, check the bag. It should have the instructions.
Try about 1/2 a cup three times a day. Usually the bag of food tells you how much a day and just divide that into 3 meals. It goes by their weight.
Look at your puppy chow bag and on the back it will say. Depending on the weight.
There should be instructions on the bag of puppy food. Follow them.
I dunno. Interesting question though!
