He looks like a Chow Chow but I've never seen a brindle chow. What breed do you think he is mixed with if he is even mixed?

Aiden is a sable. But your dog is definitely a brindle. He has directional striping strongly evident . As another poster pointed out, he could be an Akita cross. That would give him the head shape, the thick plushy coat, the curled tail, and the brindle coloration. What the other part of the cross is could be anybody's guess. We can't see what he really looks like because we're looking down on top of him. I'd have taken a side on shot to show what his conformation looks like.
Im saying a Akita chow mix. Hes got a longer fatter muzzel more like a Akita then a pure chow plus not enough fur for a full chow. His tail curls on is back just like a Akita and he looks to tall to be a pure chow. My votes a Akita chow (A large majority a akitas have the black masks like that; D)

He's not brindle. He just has weird fur. Aiden is the same way. So is his dad, and one of his sisters, and one of his brothers.

He's beautiful.I would say maybe Belgian Malinois and Chow. Can't you at least keep him in your yard while you try to find a home for him, or find a no-kill shelter or Chow rescue group?? It's a shame he has to live on the streets.
Do you think he is mixed with a German Shepherd? You could always get his DNA checked, they do that a lot and you are able to find out quite easily. It would be interesting
Yes chow chow come in brindle some lighter then the others. I do not believe he is mixed with anything he is all Chow ... :-)
Could be mixed with some sort of shepherd ... or aa very mixed mutt. The possibilities are really endless.
