Doing a "reading" at my first kennel club meeting? What i

I recently emailed the president of our local kennel club about joining with my corgi, Oliver, who I am going to start showing in conformation and agility. The woman is very sweet and very nice, and she mentioned about how I'll come to two meetings and do a "reading" and then I'll be in the club. I didn't want to ask her right there what they were without doing some research, just to not sound ignorant, because I know a lot about dog showing , I've just never heard of doing that. The membership application also states that I must do 2 readings before being accepted into the club, but they don't go into detail about what these "readings" are.

Does anyone who is active in the showing world or in a kennel club know what that might be?:) Thanks!
This means that the information about you will be "read" to the member form your application - you may be asked to make a brief statement about why you want to join or your interest in working with the club and how you can help with the events that they sponsor. Talk o people before the member be friendly and ask questions. this couple meetings is so they know a little about who they are taking in aa member pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

If they ask you to make a statement it might be something like: "I have one 6 month old keeshond and have been taking classes from XYZ training center in agility. I work in the secretarial field and I'm interested in learning abut how to assist with stewarding or helping the trial secretary, My pup was gotten as a show prospect and I am interested in showing conformation - but I need to learn how "
I think they mean a palm reading to make sure you have no evil canine spirits in your aura.

.....;)

Joking; I actually have no idea, I've never heard that term before, but starring for my contacts. I'm guessing it's just a funny term for a slightly formal meet n 'greet.
I would be interested to hear what this is!

First thing that popped into mind was some kind of hokus-pokus seance type thing. Hopefully I am wrong ...
just ask her what that means.
