Today my dog got out of the fence in my backyard today. This is about the 5th time she's got out. We've found, and fixed the spot that she got out in. Everytime she got out, someone in the neighborhood found her. My question is, what if someone doesn't find her the next time she gets out? How can I prevent her from getting out? Also, I cannot take her on walks to get her to go to the bathroom, because she doesn't go. Thanks!
It would help to know what kind of dog. Sex. Age. What a normal day is ....
Your dog will always feel a need to either explore or socialize.
I can't help but notice the baby (YAY BABY!)
You also seem perplexed by a new event with your dog.
You need to consider that a change in your normal behavior has changed hers.
You may want to reinforce your relationship with her.
Without knowing your schedule I can't suggest how to measure your time,
but you don't have to feed in one large sitting.
You can break her meals into smaller 3 to 6 portions and make multiple visits to the yard to feed.
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com Pick the length of the feed period.
All day long or in the space of an hour or two during TV commercials.
Just one throw of a toy when you go out to pick up the bowl constitutes Play
and she'll like that.
It will also provide her with some regular bonding patterns.
Taking advantage of your mom instincts, think that your dog isn't too different from a 5 or 6 year old kid. She can communicate and reasonably keep herself out of trouble, but you're going to keep an eye out and interact with some regularity.
Do the same with your pup.
You could always try chaining her up somewhere in the yard, make sure the chain has a lot of room for her to move though. I don't generally agree with this method, though I have seen it put into use more then once and it does stop the dog (generally) from leaving the yard.
It seems to me that she might be bored and looking for company while you're not home. Hence why she leaves the yard. If this is the case, this could be fixed by getting a second dog. Though this is very costly, and I wouldn't suggest that you get one if you deeply don't want a second pet.
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com I hope this is somewhat useful to you.:) Good luck.
To prevent her from getting lost always make sure she is wearing a collar with a registration tag
you could try giving her more toys the best ones are ones that you can hide treats inside this will keep her occupied she is probably bored and wants to explore a good idea is to rotate the toys so she doent get bored also you could put chicken wire around the bottom of your fence to stop her from getting out this also looks good if you can get some vines growing on the wire NEVER tie her up she will just hurt herself and could strangle herself
hope this helps
Make sure she always has an ID tag with your address and phone number, get her microchipped and register the info and keep it up to date in the microchip company's database, keep a list of the numbers of the local pound and animal shelters, keep a current photo and description of the dog handy in case you need to make a lost dog poster, and you may need an invisible fence. I agree with Country Girl's post, too.
Build a better fence! Have her microchipped! Make sure she gets plenty of exercise! Walking her is good exercise even if she doesn't go to the bathroom. Walk her anyway!

ADD:
Yes you did say that you can't take her on walks and I quote: "I cannot take her on walks"
What's going to the bathroom got to do with walking her? You walk her whether she goes or not.
What the hell has going to the bathroom got to do with her escaping??? Who's the dumbass ????
Yeah, just what I thought .... you can't answer that!
I deffinatly would NOT recommend putting her on a tie/chain no matter how long it is.You can google how bad that actually is for them. I dont know what to say about the fence thing if you've already gotten it fixed but you should for sure have her microchipped since shes so sneaky. Its pretty cheap.
You could get a wireless pt confinement system ... they work wonderful. I have a dog that breaks log chains tears holes through chain clink fences, jumps over fences, and can pull a stake out of the ground ... this is the only thing thats kept him in the yard. Dont get a dog to keep this one in the yard ... two dogs go bumming more than just one does. If she's digging out you could try burying chicken wire around the base of the fence ... they hate that feel on their paws and will stop digging out ... we used it at the shelter i used to work for.
make sure your fence is secured ... don't let her out unsupervised?

ETA: sorry lol, misunderstanding. When i read "i cannot take her on walks to get her to go to the bathroom" i thought you meant you don't take her for walks at all o_O
you might not like this suggestion but cement along the fence line will keep her in! Just dig a trench under the fence all around the yard. Use quick dry cement and that should keep her in the yard.
