I have a 6 year old chihuahua who has been sick for about a week.
He has been having diarrhea and has been vomiting. He has not been eating or drinking either.
I have no clue what could be wrong with him, he has all of his shots and I don't think he has gotten into anything.
He is was also the runt so im not sure if that has anything to do with it.
He doesn't need any moe shots in his lifetime for one
http://www.critteradvocacy.org/K9% 20Reco ... Have the vet do a CBC and thyroid blood test. Look around everywere to ensure no poisen or plants in jested. He could also be blocked if he swallowed something so may do xray.
Of course he may just feel sick right now and a fast will help then a bland diet or rice and chicken for a few days.
Good luck.
After 48 hours with no imrovement, he should have been at the vet. Why have you allowed this to go on so long?
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com I seriously doubt that he hasn't had anything to drink in a week. If this is really the case, he need to be brought to an emergency vet ASAP, before his kidneys shut down from dehydration.
You've let this go on about 5 days too long and it could be something super serious now. You need to call your vet, or an emergency vet, and honestly tell them that it's been 7 days with no food or water AND vomiting and diarrhea. This dog likely needs an IV, nutrients, b12, and some sort of stomach/GI med.
heya this can be a sign of many things such as poisining, tumour (if he is losing weight rapidly), or just generally has an upset belly, its like when you feel sick you dont want to eat and if you eat it makes you fell sick. try offering something he loves to eat as a treat to build his apetite back.
if he has had no fluids you will need to try to syringe him some in the mouth with a plastic syringe (like you get with baby medicine). PLEASE TAKE HIM TO VET ASAP. the vet is the closest option to a result of what is wrong, but try what i said see if it works.
First I have to say ... If the poor dog has been ill for a week, WHY Haven't you taken him to the vet???

Throwing up and diarrhea causes dehydration, very quickly in a small dog and dehydration leads to death.
Take him asap to the emergency vet before it's too late.
Poor dog!!
He's been suffering and you have been typing.
My dog was like this, to make him better we had to make sure he ate and drank so we had to literally force-feed him and spray water into his mouth, it sounds horrible but he needed it, after a while he was fine, he probably may just have a bug. hope he's better soon!:) x
It could be dehydration, which can be life threatning for a dog that little. Call the vet ASAP! Bring him/her in then find out, instead of coming on here, bring your dog in so a proffestional can take a look.
It could be anything, just try and keep him hydrated. Offer him the bland diet which consists of rice and ground hamburger or chicken. We give our dogs ground turkey or ground chicken because our dogs are allergic to beef.
A dog can get Parvo at any age. Vomiting and Diarrhea are the first signs along with lethargy. Has he had any vaccines? I'm glad you are finally taking him to the vet! Good luck.
He mustve eaten something wrong ... take him to the vet imedietly! Just to be safe:)
Time to visit the vets before your dog completely dehydrates as well as already being unwell
maybe he is not getting enough nutrients from his food? maybe you should switch dog food brands.?
