Help with dog litter.?

Hi, My dog gave birth this morning to 9 puppies. Unfortunatley she rejected them and has killed 5: (So at the moment we are hand rearing the other 4. Don't worry we have contacted the vet and have got a musle so she cant bite them and formula milk and everything for the pups. Does anyone have any advice on if the dog can be reintroduced to the litter and why she may have rejected them all in the first place?

Why?

female not mature enough ......... genetic issues in the pups .......... temperament issues (dog should never have been bred with )......... lack of knowledge in the humans, so the dog feels threatened/anxious/unsafe..........too many humans or other animals around the litter .............. all of these can be reasons why a dog kills.

Reintroduction? Are 5 kills not enough to tell you this is not possible for this dog

You now have 4 pups to hand feed, toilet and care for 24/7 every two hours with risk daily of more dying and a female dog who need spaying so it doesn't happen again .... good luck
If you are referring to a "muzzle", a mother dog will still have to stimulate them to relieve the puppy. I suggest googling and researching all you can on feeding and caring for the pups yourself, the odds are pretty great that she will not accept the rest of them, and she shouldn't be forced. Just like people, not every dog is fit to be a mother. I recommend never breeding her again.
Karma. That's what happens when you breed a dog with a bad temperament (here's the part where you say how wonderful she is), too young, and with NO knowledge. Of course the only ones that truly suffered were the poor pups that got ravaged pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

'Nother BYB, new account, first & last name. Must be part of a club

An idiotic rebuttal. Why am I not surprised? Yes, It's CLEAR based on your previous panicked questions that you're experienced http://ph.answers.yahoo.com/question/ind ...

You also let her kill, not one, not two, but FIVE, and you expect a pat on the back? Go ahead, but the survivors back in the whelping box with your sweet tempered dam that needs to be muzzled. I'm sure she'll find another way to kill them. Sickening

Are you out of your mind? You don't interfere? How apathetic can you be? No, I never have nor would I allow that to happen, because as soon as ab * tch of mine would show aggression toward her pups she would be removed from them. When your 'expert' vet has whelped and reared as many litters as I have, then I'll I'll accept his (surprisingly unnamed) explanation. You're all about excuses and avoiding responsibility, aren't you ?
Was she too young to breed? at least 2 years old? If not she may not have been mature enough to know what to do with them. That is why dogs should not be bred until they are 2. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

If she is old enough, she just may be one of those mammals that don't have a motherly instinct.

After this I think I would get her spayed. Don't want any more of this. What a night mare, how confuse you must feel.
Well i thought you took the family in for a vet check in the first 12 hours after birth.

heard that the mother would kill sickly puppies

nope if she has to have a muzzle to keep fom biting puppies. you are now the mother for the next 6 weeks.
Thats sad ... well mothers tend to do that lol, but i think u should doit when she calms down a bit and do it slowly
