i have a 5 month old Labradoodle called Finlay.Every time i scratch or tickle his belly he scratches me with his leg and moves it around like its crazy. Why does he do this?
it might be the next WWE heavy weight champ called Mr. Finlay!
Its a game for the dog so it do like that ... It feel happy when it is tickled
Two answers.
It tickles:
He's happily twitching. My Smooth haired mini doxie does the typical back leg running a mile a minute when I scratch him on the side of his neck.
The scientific answer:
You may be scratching near a nerve and causing a reflex action, like a spasm (this doesn't mean it doesn't feel good and you should stop or anything). Like when the doctor knocks you on the kneecap and your legs goes up .
Iy basically is just a senitive spot my dog does it 2, i think that there leg goes like that cos they are tryn to stop ya tickling them cos its to much to handle (in a good way) like ya wud if u were been tickled lol
Don't worry about it dennis. Most dogs have a spot on their undersides that provoke this automatic reaction, often an area no wider than a 50p piece. It is a perfectly natural reaction and nothing at all to worry about.
it is just a reaction to a tender or ticklish area on his body kind of like a reaction a person one have if they were to be tickled.
It may be his sensitive spot. You know how people get ticklish, same thing goes for dogs
That's just the way he response from it. My dogs do the same thing because they love it when I do it.
I don't know why, but my pup does that too and it cracks me up! Puppy dogs are so wonderful!
It's sort of like he's laughing cause it feels good.
