i have an english cocker spaniel show type will he still have a high prey drive and chase rabbits squirrels foxs ect will he have a low mediom or hight prey drive ps we have a rabbit and we occasionaly find a fox coming in if my dog 'male 'confrunted it would he come out on top
Prey drive varies among individuals, but English Cocker Spaniels do often have medium or high prey drives. You would know better than I would since he's your dog, so you can observe his individual behavior , but it is very possible that he'll try to go after birds, squirrels and other small, fast-moving animals.
If you mean you have a pet rabbit, you need to get right on teaching the dog to respect the rabbit. Make sure he has a very thorough understanding of the "leave it" command, just in case it's needed:

As for how he'd fare with foxes, well, a fox will typically flee rather than fight, so the chances of your dog actually grappling with a fox are pretty low. But if they did fight .. well, a threatened or diseased ( ie, with rabies) fox can be really nasty, so .. Who knows? It would be quite a fight, I think. So, make sure you're doing what you can to prevent any such situations. Keep the dog leashed when you 're walking him, teach him a strong "leave it" and recall, and try to keep foxes away from your property.
And if you're not sure how to teach him a solid recall, start by reading this:

Show dogs don ' t have consistent prey drive in their lines. He may or may not possess prey drive, you will just have to observe him to see if he has drive or not. As for the fox thing, a fox will not normally engage a domestic dog as their health care sucks and if they get hurt they are dead. If a fox does engage your dog prepare to go to the vet to get your dog sewn back together at best put out of misery at worst.
Drive is really just about the chase, it is not about killing. He wilk chase the rabbits, but
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com most likely won't catch them, the fox you want ot avoid. although the spaniel is bigger
