grrrr my little yorkie keeps peeing all over the floor! how can we train him to pee outside? weve tried putting him outside and leaving him for a while but its like he holds it then comes in and ... tinkles everywhere. HELP!
You can't just put the dog outside and hope for the best. It just doesn't work that way.
1. You need to keep an eye on this dog all the time when he's inside. Crate him while you can't (if you haven't crate trained him, google it; there are many great resources on how to acclimate a dog to a crate). When in the house, you can even keep him tethered to you so he can't leave the room you're in or go hide behind a couch while he pees.
2. If you catch him in the act interrupt him by getting his attention (a clap ought to do it) and then quickly bring him outside. Stay with him and when he finished, praise him, throw a little party and give him treats.
If he is not allowed to practice his in the house elimination and is interrupted every single time he starts to go and immediately taken outside, he'll learn quickly that going outside earns rewards and going in the house does not.

You need to take the dog out on a leash and stay with it until it has urinated, then praise it and give a treat. Do this as soon as the dog wakes up, again after it has eaten and had water and for a young pup ever few hours until he is house trained. Just before going to bed walk the dog again.
There is a great book available for training puppies, Its called Puppy's First year and it gives details on house training a pup.
Let him drink water and put him in a crate, then after a while put him outside, he'll need to go and after being cooped up in a crate he'll want to be out side (crate training) another way is put him on a leash and take him into the back yard encourageingly. thats the crash course lol
There's a thing called a "Pee Post" that has pheromones in it and makes your dog pee outside.

Whenever he pees say "Go Potty!" Or something and when he finishes praise him and maybe even give him a treat hope that helps:)
Is he lifting his leg when he pees inside? If so, he is probably marking and not just peeing. I have 2 male chihuahuas and after 6 years of training them not to mark ... they still do. They now wear diapers.
i have a yorkie and i take him out every time he wakes up from sleepinq or when hes done eatinq/drinkinq i wait 15mins to take him out he hasnt peed in the house for awhile and hes only 9weeks old
