What is the best and worst thing about having a dog?

Best: The companionship you get with a dog. They love you no matter what and nothing makes you smile more than a lick in the face and a tale wag from your best friend!

Worst: Puppy phase; ie: potty training, teething (learning the coffee table is NOT a chew toy!)
The only bad thing about having a dog is knowing that s/he will not live as long as you will.

There are many wonderful things about having a dog. The best of all, in my opinion, is watching their personalities develop. All my dogs have been rescued, and most of them have been abused in the past. They have come into my home frightened and shy, and with no exception, have grown to be loving and entertaining companions, both spoiled and adventurous. Each dog has their own personality, and it is a special treat to be able to see their individual traits become more and more prevalent.
For me, the best thing is laughing when scientists finally realize we aren't talking out of our butts when we say our dogs are more intelligent then most of the people we meet. pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

The worst is usually the fact they die so young. You really start loving them, enjoying them, and suddenly they're old, and slow, and then finally die. There's a reason most people cry reading "Old Yeller" or " Where the Red Fern Grows. "
good - caring, friend, cuddly, warm, relaxing, prote ... bed time buddy.fun to play with.

bad-potty training. chew on your furniture, their like babies you cant neglect them, vet bills can be expensive, ruin furniture by peeing on them or pooing on them, taking them for walks can be a hassel. like my dogs they dont care for cas they will just run on the street and get banged.

and if you dont potty train them they pee on your rugs and stuff.
Best - companionship and that special moment in dog training when your dog just "gets it" and looks at you with so much pride and love.

Worst - Puppy destruction. You can't turn your back for 2 seconds without him chewing something to pieces. Including his toys. Argh.
Best: the unconditional love and loyalty the show you pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

worst: the vet bills and the loss of independence (ie need to get home to feed/walk her multiple times a day, can't go away for a weekend w/o finding a sitter)

The good FAR outweighs the bad!
Best: Everything

...

Worst: Nothing. Wait, there is the cleaning up poop.

But you know it all even out!

Eventually.:)
Best thing is the unconditional love and devotion

Worst thing is they do not live nearly long enough
Best-mostly everything.

Worst-dog farts.
