What dog or cat breed is easiest to take care of and a good

i'm a girl and I have never had a pet before, I used to be scared of them but I really wanna try and take care of a dog or a cat.

does my personality matter when it comes to getting along well with my pet?
One of the most easiest dog breed to handle are labrador or chihuahua. They are very easy to teach and eager to learn for your training. Although there are other aspect that you should also consider as you pick the pet for you such as daily exercise requirement, grooming maintenance and bonding time it needs from its owner to keep it happy and healthy.

I recommend that you watch my 4 minute dog choosing video at http://www.youtube.com/watch ? v=6pxui6GMC ... which will help you decide on which dog breed best suits your lifestyle and preference.

Make sure that you also personally provide training for your dog to build trust and confidence to your dog and also equip you with better understanding for your dog and its needs.
Yes, your personality matters. As does your lifestyle and current schedule. If you're an outgoing person that loves to socialize, then you don't want a recluse of an animal that hates being around other people. If you're not an active person then you don't want an animal that requires a ton of brisk paced activity.

Cats are, overall, easier to care for than dogs - dogs require daily controlled walks, frequent socialization with other people/dogs, mental stimulation, and a ton of training. If you're looking for "easy" then you won't want a dog. However cats also require similar basic care: proper diet, litter box training, socialization with people coming into the home, grooming, and play activity.

And there is no "try". Either you want to put in the effort of caring for a pet for the next ten plus years or you don't. Animals are not toys you can "try out" and then bring back if things don't work out.

I would suggest a cat or some small fuzzy rodent animal (rabbit, guinea pig, gerbils, etc.)
Every pet needs care, time, and attention, which can sometinmes be costly or stressful for the owner. If you really want to get a pet, do some research online about different breeds and types. You could also visit your local animal shelter. Sometimes it is easier to adopt an adult dog who is already trained to get you comfortable with dogs and what they need. Your personality does matter greatly. Animals can sense when you are scarred or unsure in a situation, and some animals will take advantage of that. I would look into adopting an adult cat from a shelter. Cats typically are less work than dogs, but they still like attention and can be playful and loving. Dogs require daily training and walks. If you are comited to keeping a pet for the rest of his life (between 10-20 years) then talk it over with whoever you live with, do your research, and head on over to the animal shelter to find your new friend.
Im 13 and i have 2 Lhasa apso's they are lovely and they are so cute they snuggle up to you at night play during the day. They dont malt either: -]. The only problem is they need shaving frequently if you want them short, as they have long hair, if you wanted them with long hair they need combing like every day so they don't get tangled. They dont need walking frequently ( every day). But they are so lovable and they live for around 18 years.

If you were going to get a dog, I would get a smaller dog, especially if you were scared of them at once. And small dogs mostly tend to be good companion dogs. Cats are independent and some can be moody. You want a cat that wants attention and doesn't mind being held or being pet.
