I was outside with my dog in 40 degree weather for about an hour. For the first fourty minutes my dog was pretty warm, but then he started shivering. He's half lab and half beagle so I figured I would get him a coat for the winter , but what kind would you suggest? Any on petsmart.com? (I shop there so I would like for you to pick one on their website.)
http://www.petsmart.com/family/index.jsp ... There's the link, all the coats and sweater to select from. Thanks!
(I thought I'd tell you that after he was shivering we sat on the porch and covered up with blankets, so then he got warmer.)
Thanks!
Any of these look like good choices, as they all appear to be insulated & fleece-lined with a water-repellent outer material.

Since your dog already needs a coat when it's 40 degrees, and it's going to get below 0 this winter, you may want to consider a buying him a sweater to wear underneath one of the coats linked above. Choose a sweater with good belly coverage especially .

Ya i know the feeling I was honestly a little embarrassed about getting my dog a coat cuz she's tiny and everyone thinks its a fashion thing but i couldn't stand watching her shiver anymore ... the only thing I would tell you is i was able to find a lot cheaper and better jeckets elsewhere ... i know some ppl hate walmart but at this time of year they have a GREAT selection and really good prices ... also i don 't know if you have pet value but i got her the same jacket i saw at petsmart for half the price ... $ 25.00.
Aww that's so cute that you snuggles with blankets ^ __ ^ <3
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com Both of my dogs, (adult and puppy) have a coat.
I would suggest the Reflective Insulated Coat,

i had the same problem! my dog is a pit/boxer and she kept getting cold when we went for our walk, so i got her this coat, and now there is no problems. it keeps her nice and warm, and is cute too .
For god sake! stop treating your dogs like humans, idiots.
My inu tosa goes out in all weathers and does fine without a coat, do you think in the wild animals go around with nice fluffy coats?
No,
The walking should keep him warm, and since hes half lab i dont see how he could get cold.
I would suggest:

http://www.baxterboo.com/dogs.cfm/dog-co ... This is my favorite site to buy dog stuff from ... no super-long shipping time to wait for it to come (usually ships the next day) and s + h hardly costs a thing ... loads more sizes than most places.
Yes! definitely get him a coat! Pneumonia is definitely a threat to chilled dogs.
