I am looking for a reputable breeder, that ships there puppies, and I was just browsing on nextdaypets.com and I noticed that prices are from $ 250, to $ 2000, and I was just wondering what a reasonable price would be for a Rough Collie, they are gorgeous dogs, and I am very interested in getting one in the next couple of years.
Look for a breeder that shows the dogs, has champion titles on them, tests for a number of inheriated/geneitc problems and will give you a few years of health guarantee. I would guess that a decent breeder would charge about $ 800 for a pet quality dog that has good health. The cheaper the dog, the more likely its from a backyard breeder and no health testing done.
I wo uld go to a dog show and ask the going prioce for puppies. Be specific about what you want, if you want a pet quality, a show quality, or performance dog, or a bitchto breed. This generally affects the price.
Most of the breeders in your area who are on the AKC referral list will have the same or similair prices. The breeders you interview will also give you info on thingsd to watch out for that are breed specific, and what tests need to be dome on Collies before they are bred, like hips, eyes, etc.
Please DON'T buy a pup from NextDayPets or any other online puppy seller.

Rough Collies are lovely dogs but are prone to some health issues. You don't want to risk buying a pup sight-unseen from a shady breeder or broker who probably didn't bother to health-test the parents.
Go to some dog shows and meet Collie breeders and/or contact the breed club representative in your area. The breed isn't that uncommon, so surely there's a good breeder within traveling distance of your home.
'Reasonable price'? You get what you pay for. If you want a good pup, be prepared to pay for quality.
Reputable breeders do not advertise on puppy selling websites like nextday pets, kiiji.
If you are looking for a reputable breeder you will contact the Collie Club of America.
Each area has a District Director. Each district director has a list of breeders and usually has a list of available dogs or puppies.
Typical price for a Rough Collie from a reputable breeder is $ 1,000.

Reputable breeders NEVER sell ONLINE!
REAL breeders DO ship .... after they've TALKED to prospective buyers & decided if they'll sell-on contract!
Sorry dont know much on that breed but why dont you do some research on local breeders in the area you live so that you can go and inspect the property of where the pups are kept. That will take some time to do anyway then once you reached your financial goal and are ready to purchase a puppy you will already know which breeder you want to deal with. You always want to be able to see the breeders property. I learned the heard way 8 yrs ago (young and dumb) I thought it was great for a breeder to bring his last pup to me to check out, well of course i fell in love with my female basset and bought her on spot ... she was extremely ill, with phononeia from kennel cough untreated .. she almost didnt make it .. the breeder offered to take her back till she was in good health and i told him to shove it where the sun dont shine ... I didnt notice her being sick for the first few days because he had her doped up on something that he gave me (pills) in a bag he told me they were for seperation anxiety of the mother and I was gulible at the time so I gave them to her but when i took her to the vet he recommended they were not suprised all his pups came in that way. So if you are planning to do this on line be prepared ... make them take pics for you if you do find a breeder on line and make them hold up a piece of paper with a word you pick on it so that you know it is recent photos, if they refuse they are not a good breeder .... I did purchased my last male pup from Puppyfinder.com ... they actually have raitings on the breeders and i did thank god have a great experience and one of my pups was from another state. I did also get a english bulldog a year ago but i traveled to another state near by about 3 times for him, until he was old enough to come home with me ... also was another great experience.
