Why do people ask Dog health question here?
I se allot of people asking questions about Dog health issues on here. If my dog has a problem shouldn't I do the same thing for him as I would do for myself, like go to the Dr ?
answer:
There are a FEW people on here who's opinions I value. So although I am not going to ask "My dog swallowed a tennis ball, what should I do?" I may ask for other opinions based on confirmed diagnosed ailments and how others on here may of handled the situation. Especially since I feed a raw diet, and it is perceived by most in the medical world that dogs with many life long ailments need to be on very specific and regulated diets. So if my dogs were ever diagnosed as such, I may ask for opinions from other raw feeders. Diabetes, for example, usually requires a very specific diet that might make raw feeding "seem" impossible.
Not necessarily. People are here for opinions. If the problem doesn't seem serious enough to have to go to the vet, then they will ask for people's advice. If they don't have to go to the vet, it will save them money, just like us and Dr.s. But, I have seen some questions on here that were obvious that the dog needed to go the vet.

Hi Dude,
pets question and answers,www.5d2d.com

Well, I have seen incredible answers given by doctors and vets to those who may
have questions that aren't too serious with their pet's health.
There are many professionals that are selfless who really help.
My boyfriend and I have a pomeranian, and when we first got it, it was mute!
We got alot of answers from people who were more knowledgeable about it
than we were. Besides, if you're more informed about it, you have a little better
information to go to ....if you need to take your pet to a vet, don't you think?

Yes the smart and responsible thing to do is to take the dog to the Vets..
I will ask a question here about health ONLY after my dog has been at the Vets and having a problem diagnosing the symptoms..I had 2 cases..one was a dog that would'nt eat and losing weight..x-rays and blood work showed nothing..The other was the dog flu that my Vet did'nt see a case of yet..I found that it was close enough so I took the dog back and once treated they were fine..
Yes you would think that the logical thing would be to call the vet, but some of these people are looking for quick cheap fixes. It is irresponsible to give health advice over the internet and even worse to accept it
Yes but you sare missing that people are ignorant and lazy and ALWAYS looking for the "cheap and easy" way out instead of the best way
A lot of people just lack the common sense, they're just too cheap, or both.
They dont want to pay vet bills
